How long can you wait before opening the mail box after the results have been declared?

How long can you guys just read the posts on AF once the results have been declared without knowing your result?
 
I am going to open my email the next day after reading AF, I just don’t have the guts to open my email immediately.

I’d bet you’ll open it the same day.
 
Will be keeping my phone on my desk, as soon as the light starts blinking blue I’ll know I received an email. I am going to mentally prepare myself for 10 seconds then take the leap. Can’t wait any longer than that.

This. I already wrote this somewhere else but I disabled previews and reading panes, etc. Once I see the email hit… deep breath… and go. Waited 10 weeks for this, certainly not going to extend it any further.
 
I have no idea.
I certainly will wait a little and mentally prepare for the option of failure so I don’t panic and slip in depression.
Might be as long as the next day.

Sounds about right. Keep checking mail….see it…close office door….deep breath…and……
 
Got the CFA institute as one of the “VIP” on my iphone, so that it does not go to “Junk” as for my lvl I result and VIP emails are displayed with their text even when the phone is locked….so hopefully no waiting, email arrives => result known…good or bad tonorrow will tell

Still you are lucky to have your results in the morning. I mean you will go home today, have a sound sleep and wake up tommorow with results about to come. Here is India it is much tougher. We have to wait till 6:30 PM on tuesday for the results to be out. You can literally do nothing but wait for the results the whole day!!!
 
“Congratulations, we are very pleased to inform you…” vs. “We sincerely regret to inform you…”
 
I’m purposely going on a long bike ride tomorrow morning at 9AM. When I’m back at around noon and ready to have lunch, I shall check my result. If I failed, I won’t be needing to prepare lunch. My caloric deficit is effectively my hedge tomorrow.

Works for Europe too, except it is a bit earlier of course, around 3pm here
 
I’d much rather have my results at 6:30PM than at 9:30AM, when I’m sitting at work and have 5 colleagues standing around my desk every time my phone vibrates with an email asking ‘DID YOU PASS?’. Anything outside business hours, please. Results need to be released Sunday mornings. What the fuck is it with Tuesday?
 
On the plus side for getting results in the late afternoon/early evening: not having to get through the whole work day if you didn’t pass.
 
i used to look at this forum in levels 1 and 2 and think how low life everyone on this forum is and how everyone should just relax and get a life. now i have become one of y’all.
 
Heh, I disabled email previews in my mobile email app before my Level II result this year as well. I didn’t wait long to open it but I knew I’d want a few seconds to take a deep breath and set my mind right.

I’ve always waited until after work. My wife, close friends, and I all order shots and then I open it. It’s either a celebration shot or shot of misery. I’m trying for the 18-month pass so it’s all been celebration so far. I’m scared for tomorrow though. The chance of failure with the written portion is getting to my head.
 
Imagine guys from Australia/NZ.. They will get emails at 11pm local time.. It would be a sleepless night form them.. excited if passed , depressed if failed..
