Hi,
I already studied the CFAI recommended 300-350 hours for the level 2, but I feel like I am still a way behind. I am planning to put another 50 to 80 hours of pratices (EOCs and Mock) until the exam day. I will be around 400h by the end of the month, hope that will be enough. How many hours have you put in since now? what’s your target hours t the end.
Don’t give up mates!

I have no Idea
And I plan to study every free minute until June 1 driven solely by the fear of the possibility of having to re-do this whole process if I fail.

700 hrs approx and targeting to get another 300 given the fact that I am a full time student.

i’m sorry but 700 hours is insane. that seems quite unhealthy.
Ha ha, wouldn’t you be somewhat jealous? He might have started very early, in which case it’s still possible to study a lot and have some sort of a social healthy life (from my experience). Putting that many hours in the last month if your work/school allows it doesn’t surprise me. It differentiates those who want to give their very best shot and be done with the CFA2, to those willing to retake it. Lucky him, wish I had that much time to devote, I’d definitely feel more confident!

People from India seems to spend more time, a bit more competition for the jobs there I would imagine..
I started studying 1st of Feb, working full time, so only been evening/weekend studies. I haven’t kept count, but I would estimate it’s around 200 hours so far. 130 on weekends and 70 hours on weekdays. For level 1 I spent a total of around 200h and passed, I would not manage that for Level 2. So now this last month I will take a few days off from work and really push 100 more hours and I hope 300h will be enough for me to pass.

I really question the # of hours people say they study. I actually track hour by hour on a calendar and I am just finishing my first pass through the curriculum at 115 hours. I passed level 1 with 180 hours.

I put
200h first pass (Schweser book + video + crosscheck the CFAI book)
75 h second pass (Just reviewing + making own notes)
75h Practices ( EOCs + Qbank (schweser)) (the Qbank is really bad)
PLANNING 75H in the next month (5 mocks + review EOC)

Thanks for defending me (in a way). I have a healthy life but no social any more. Started my preps early Jan 2013.
@sheerazihasan To keep me healthy I run, do some yoga and meditation which involve me for an houe daily early morning.

I keep a record as find having to put what i’ve done down on paper guilts me into actually working and only count time spent 100% concentrating as opposed to staring out the window/texting etc.
Done 120hrs so far, I’ll cover about 70 hours in the next 3 weeks (allowing for a long weekend off for a family wedding abroad) and about 50-60 in the final 8 days before the exam which I have off work. So looking at about 240-250. I don’t think it’s enough but we’ll see, hoping cramming and short term memory retention pays off

I tracked hours for L1 but stopped for L2 because I found that the number of hours is pretty much irrelevant as it isn’t a good measure of your progress compared to just understanding the material and scoring well on mocks.
That being said, I see value in tracking hours from a motivational standpoint – seeing that you’ve already put in a ton of time drives one to continue to finish strong, make all that time worth it, etc…

not trying to insult you at all - it’s quite admirable actually to be so dedicated. good for you!
good luck with the remaning few days of studying and most of all good luck on the exam! all the best

You’ll notice the Indian’s are pretty intense about the CFA process. They make up the majority of the ‘new charterholder’ list every year.
I tracked my hours for L1. I am not tracking for L2. I just study most of the time and now am taking lots of FinQuiz/Schweser QBank quizes. Then study what I missed again over weekends
