I sat Level I for the first time in June 2009. I was planning on giving it two attempts, if necessay. I was wondering how many times everyone else has sat it...including June 2009?

I was thinking that if I couldn't pass it after two attempts, I would give up. Are other people more tenacious than that?

technically 2nd attempt here (although in December I didn't ready like 70% of the material, lol).

So really it's my first attempt. I think I would do it again in December if I failed, but I don't know about June 2010.

This June is the second time. If I failed again, I don't know what to do...
I really need this CFA L1 to suppot my job hunting!

this is my second time, I'd take it again if I failed because this is what I want to do and don't have a finance major so I figure it would show my intelligence/ability and desire all at the same time.

I'm in it to win it, this is my first time, but I'll take it again in December if I get the fail I think I will

First time and in the case that i'd fail, I would take it again in December. You have to ask yourself how much you want it.

cfacowtown, if you fail, there's no hope for any of us.

It's my first time.

3rd time

1st time - Band 1

2nd time - Band 7

3rd time - ????

I will try again if i fail this time. I hate this world...i am going to hate myself and study till i pass this....

third time. first one shouldn't count thought i didn't know what the hell i was getting into. second time band 9. pretty damn sure i passed this one, unless i made a lot of silly errors which i don't think i did. the band 9 gave me insentive. if it had been a band 4 or 5 i probably would have givin up. plus i wasn't going to spend that much time on something without finishing it. I think that is called over escalation bias though.

Second time.
Dec 08 Band 7

Practice/Mocks I was scoring in the high 60's to mid 70's (hit 80 once) so lets see. When I took the exam back in Dec I was so confident that I passed so this time around I'm not keeping high hopes, this thing is unpredictable.

june 2008.....Band 4...i was mostly lost with concepts...i was accounting major nd had no knowledge of finance including corp finance, derivatives, alt invt, equity and fixed income... well i was almost lost in conceptual frame...

dec 2008....Band 5...recovring frm lost world... but still was confused on many places..

June 2009.. seeing myself in a good shape... but having no idea that either I will pass or nt this time..

hopes r not down but fear is there...my new plans r attending live classes in any case either for L1 OR 2 but definatelly no way to give up. I think its nt an act of brave nature to leave for nothing....

no way to take permanent leave but :( xam is scary .....

I was just thinking that I will get if I will get at least 70 out of 12o either i am pass or nt... well.. lets see.. and please all of you keep me alive in ur prayers...

1st time...cant give in december if I fail coz in my country exam only takes place during June. Even on june 7th, the total number of test taker was around 160.

I like the spirit skylancer....

1st time Band 8
2nd time ????

If circumstances agree, even I am willing to take as many times as it takes...

It's my first time. I will retake in Dec if I didn't pass. Heck, I will even retake for the 3rd time next year if it still doesn't pan out. But 3 time's enough a telling for me if I'm not meant for this program.

I remember the last time (Dec 08) I took, my friends came out from the exam hall and said that there is no more value for CFA when equity markets are crashing and the end of the world is coming.

Perhaps this is what they meant when they say tenacity builds character. Those who gave up the june paper will missed the chance when the market recovers.
