How to calculate standard deviation on hp12c

I am getting frustrated because I cannot seem to find a simple tutoria to calculate the standard deviation of a random group of numbers (1,4,5,78, 35, 45) etc. on a HP 12c Platinum calculator. All tutorials I have found on the net post instruction involving frequency, x- and y-values, etc, to the point that, to me at least, it is quicker to calculate the standard deviation by hand. Anyone can offer a clear way to do this? Thanks in advance.
 
You enter the values in ∑+ and then press g s.
Make sure to clear the register beforehand.
 
Yep, that is it! Thank you so much, I-will-pass! You saved me quite a bit of frustration here. Also, f Fin REG is enough to clear registers, I assume?
 
Yes, that’s it! One more thing: get yourself a TI if you are not using the HP in Reverse Polish Notation mode! Is a lot easier to handle. I use both, love my HP but use the TI most of the time.
 
I used to have a TI way back in grad school, but as I got a hold of an HP fairly quickly when i started CFA and there are 21 days left to the test, I feel it would be too late to re-familiarize myself with a new calculator. Thanks, though.
