Does anyone know where i can compare the criteria the banks use in their equity recommendations.

for ex. how to compate 'buy' vs. 'outperform', and the different terms each uses?

i checked bbg but couldnt find anything - thanks

Each firm defines it for themselves. Look on any report and you will see their definition. But Basically,

Outperform = buy = accumulate

market perform = hold

underperform = sell = source of funds.

thanks - i was just hoping to find a table somewhere with the info - i guess ill compile one

I've never seen one, but it wouldn't be hard to compile it..its pretty clearly disclosed on every equity report.

you should start with the "star" analysts.. 95% of research out there is pure garbage, there are very few analysts actually adding value and writing about stuff you can not find out on your own.
