How to pass Level 2

I have to accept I did not put in so much effort as mentioned by jordansque23/MGR250……clear why I did not pass.
I was studying from the core curriculum, had my own notes for all topics, solved EOC’s and went through the solved examples….did 2 repitetions of this process.
All-in-all , I need to spend more effort.
I need one more advice…..On analysis of my failures, I feel that I am ok with the concepts but fail to arrive at the right answers for the problems. Do I need to solve more problems?

Maybe you need to practice some more and get used to the item set format of the exam. I had a hard time adjusting at first but you’ll get used to it as you take more mocks. The difficult thing about the exam is that they throw a lot of unecessary information in the vignette that will trap the test takers. This is were they separate those who understood the curriculum from those who didn’t. Instead of memorizing the concepts, you have to understand it. And if you do, you’ll be able to deduce the item set, throw away data that are not needed and then apply the concept/formula to answer the question. Further, you need to work on your weak areas over and over again. Also be careful not to burn yourself out. As they say this is a marathon. Conserve your energy and save the best for last. Just repeat and practice. Repeat and practice. You can do it man! :)
 
One other thing I would add in here is for anyone taking Professory Holmes video classes or end of year review with schweser, I would not follow his advice on “strength areas”. His strategy is that nobody can be good at everything in the ciriculum so what you should do is be an expert at around 4 topic areas and then try for 50% on the rest. While in theory the math on this makes sense, take it from someone who failed band 8 this year (probably 7 or 8 mult choice questions away), you cannot afford to give away any questions on this exam. Should you study harder on the most heavily weighted topics? Yes. Should you be shooting for only needing 50% on the others? Absolutely not because you have no way of guaranteeing you will get over 70% in your strength areas. You’ve got to be an expert in your strength areas and be good at everything else too.
