Hi,
Need advise.
Will appear level three for the third time this year.
Level one & two i have studied from CFAI books and schweser. Cleared both on my first try. But for level three i find the CFAI books are not as lucid as level two modules, for me at least Thus i am not able to get conceptual clarity.
Kindly advise me on how to study for level three for the third time & advise a resource provider other than schweser.

Go with schweser .. i passed in 2nd try. Both time used schweser .. difference between was practicing the AM sesson on 2nd try.
I found the CFAI books to be too wordy/repetitious. Just spend the time with Schweiser to go through it lot faster, and then spend time with actual AM exams/mocks etc. as most people really have problem with AM sesson.
The thing with AM session - you need to practice wirting it, and making sure you can read it (ie. make sure it is legible somewhat). And basically come up with a strategy on how you’ll write - i.e. short hand sentence so not to spend too much time, bullet points etc.
I only practice 3 AM sesson - but thing i focused on was, i can it write a short verson of the CFA guideline answer, using bullet points, and short phsrases.
Also you got to remember - unlike Level 1 and Level 2 - you really need to do “very well” in PM sesson. Not just “good” but rather hit a homerun. Because regardless of how much pratice - tough to do well in AM - so you try your best. I had abaout 4 below 50%, but i also scored 5 above 70% in AM. In PM, i was above 50% in everything (and more than half aboe 70%). So your strategy should be to aim to do very well in 2nd half - to offset the AM sesson which tend to difficult.

and one more thing .. in AM - part of the strategy is to quickly scan a question and determine whether you can do it or not. If you cannot - move on, and go through questions that you can answer properly. HUGE mistake i made on 1st try - spend like 20-25 mins in 1st question - trying to get it right, way overshooting time. I thought i could catch up, but that didn’t happen.
What you want to make sure is - you at least spend the points allocated to each questions - those minutes in each question. That way, you can at least make sure - the questions you know, you answer well. Because even if you really mess up 3 or 4 questions in AM, and even if you get like 5 below 50% in AM, you can still pass - doing well in rest of the AM, and doing well in PM.

+1
don’t get stuck on the first question or you will never finish and may miss easy points in last few questions.

Hello-
Hopefully this is received in the spirit in which it is given, but perhaps you should brush up on your English reading and writing skills as well. No offense, and hopefully I’m not sounding mean, but lack of comprehension and writing can really hurt you in L3 (or so I’ve heard). Your post is a little unpolished, and CFA’s questions/modules can be complex and dense reads. Perhaps that’s what’s holding you back? Either way, sorry to hear and I wish you luck.

Go through the CFA books and make notes.
Hammer at least 5 full CFA mocks in the exam setting (9-12, 2-5, no extra time etc.).
Review the mocks carefully, reading your notes/books/other notes as you are doing it. This is when you learn the most.
The KEY is to do all that ahead of time in order to have at least several weeks to just review and redo the harder questions, and most imporantly to be mentally and psychologically prepared for the actual exam.
I almost cracked the night before the exam because I didn’t have time to do ethics and review some key topics/mock questions, but kept it together and did better than I thought.
