how to prepare in 60 days

dear friends,
i just registered for CFA level-1 Decemer Exam. i am from Bangladesh. i do a part time job and am at 40+. i can put at least 5 hours a day and have some accounting background. somebody please advise me how to prepare. i want to finish in 60 days, putting aside the remaining days for practice exams. is it realistic to prepare enough to clear level 1 in this time period?

There are 67 readings in the Level 1 program… Do one reading per day, except for alternatives and derivatives, you can read two of those per day as they are pretty short chapters and minimal points on the exam. Do the end of chapter questions after reading each section. That will give you the entire month of November to do mock exams, and brush up on weak areas.

Try your very best, hope for the best, challenge yourself and see how far you will go. if it doesn’t work at least you know where your limits are!

I think anything is realistic, provided you are willing to pay the price to pass the exams. I remember coming home after 18 hours of work and studying for Level 2. The exam is tough enough whereby you can’t just go through the motions and pass, but fair enough that if you put in the time and really grasp the material you should pass.
 
I took employment with a company mid-march that insisted I register for CFA level I in June of this past year. I waited for the paper copies of the books so by the time I started studying (and by the time I realized how involved it was) I have exactly 2 months to exam day.
I skipped the content of the readings and read the chapter summaries. Then I did the questions. If I struggled with the questions I would go back to the reading and read that part. I finished the reads 3 days before exam day and then redid every single question from the end of every reading. I took the practice and scored 78% on part 1 and 70% on part 2. Though I was sure I was going to fail, I took the exam and passed. Background: I hold a PhD in computational physics but have no finance or econ background other than a business minor from undergrad.
Needless to say, I got level II books the week after I found out I passed and am currently studying right now. Definitely do not need the stress of cramming for 2 months straight, especially with a full time job on the side.
