HP12C Question

How on earth do you square a number with this calculator without punching in NUMBER times NUMBER? I've scoured these calculator keys and I'm not seeing anything that would work.

Also, what is the key sequence for finding nth roots? I can do square roots using one of the handy little buttons, but what about...5th roots?

Believe it or not I have a HP12C calculator book but none of this is mentioned in there. Can anyone recomend a good book that teaches you how to make the most of this sweet calculator?
 
The sqaure root is as follows:

What u seem to be doing: 6 ENTER 6 X

What u can do: 6 ENTER 2 Yx

Number of times u hit the keys : 4 in both instances, but if the power is anything above 2, the second one saves time.

That is the one i know.
 
Example:

Using the HP 12c to find the 4th Root of 81

Press 81, then ENTER

Press 4, [ 1/x], then [ y^x]

Answer = 3

it doesnt, go with the BAII Plus pro, much more intutitive, you dont want to be worrying about your calculator inputs during the exam.

well atleast i like it...the TI calculator had become my best friend over the month is spent studying.
