To those who always ask how is it to prepare the exam with kids. I’m a mom of 2 toddlers. When I did L1 and L2, I did not have kids and passed straight first attempt. Then we decided to start our family and I stopped to carry our kids. I came back for L3 with one baby of 6 months old that I was still nursing and a toddler of barely 2 years old.
All I can say it is NOT EASY AT ALL. With a baby, you don’t have the luxury of setting up a schedule after work or weekend. You study when the baby allows you to study. And you miss playing with your kids a lot. You sleep when the baby allows you to sleep. This is also where good organization with your spouse comes to play. Weekend my husband will take care of the kids and I will just disappear for long hours at the library.
So yes, it is doable, but be prepared for a very different experience. Make sure you take advantage of every moment you can get to study, get your body set up to sleep less while performing more.
And just like other said, mocks…mocks…mocks. I did AM mocks from 2009 to 2015 under exam conditions. I graded myself very harshly, with no partial credit allowed. And of course, my objective was to take advantage of the PM session as well just in case.
And don’t forget to chase S2000 Magician. Big help on this forum
Big advantage I got from this is I lost my pregnancies weight so fast because of all this stress. I weight now less than before the kids. Thank you CFA program

That’s a sick matrix!
Congratulations!!! So much respect for those who do this with kids. What a challenge.. there’s just so much more at stake. It must have been such an emotional relief for you to pass.

You did extremely well especially with your circumstance. It would be a long time until I get married so I feel fortunate not to be in your situation. I don’t think I can pursue this degree with a kid following me all day long.

I blush.
Don’t blush, sincerely God has to bless you. I struggled with a concept for a long time. Then the week of the exam, I posted a question about it and your answer made it so obvious in few minutes. In the exam room, I smiled and said “Thanks S2K”

Cool.

Passed CFA level III with 2 Mischievous kids……….both are very built-in bundles of curiosity…….always try to explore things and always ask something. But both are heart of me..
So sincerely speaking, it is your spouse who bear with all odds in life to give you a chance to attain your career goals.
It is very really hard to with KIDS to go for LEVEL 3.
One of great guider of this forum is S2000magician who was always there to help any of us.
Allah Bless him (S2000magician)

Congrats, MissYiota! I can’t imagine how hard this is with kids.

I know how difficult it must have been to pass with kids. I passed with 4 kids! Just insanely crazy…, but it’s doable.
Congrats on passing!

I can’t believe you could focus with a 6 month old still nursing.
My daughter was born the week of my Level I CFA exam, but my wife obviously had the difficult job. I was able to study at work which helped immensely. There was no way to study at home the past couple years with a child.

I passed CFA Level 3 with a very mischievous kid too. But finally it is over.

Incredible. What a feat. Big kudos on your perserverance, committment and great result.

Hey, remember being a brand-new parent, and how you managed to survive WITH ZERO SLEEP for 14 months or so? I think that “training” is an advantage with the CFA, don’t you?

I passed level 3 in a body cast, with 2 broken hands, pneumonia and a wolf gnawing at my ankles…

How did you get the wolf into the test center? Any special accomodations?
