I took my first CFAi Sample Test...

60 questions.

I scored an 83%.

The exam was pretty straightforward, although I was stumped on a few questions that came from subject areas that I took for granted. Here's the breakdown of my score:

Ethics.................77.78%
Quant.................100%
Economics...........100%
FSA.....................76.92%
Corp Finance.......75%
Equity..................57.14% (<---that score pisses me off!)
Derivatives..........100%
Alternative Inv.....66.67% (<---again, mad!)
Fixed Income.......100%
Portfolio Mgmt.....100%

The ethics questions seemed very, very quirky. I didn't like them. Then again, I don't like ethics as the topic is way too subjective.

Compared to Schweser, this exam really opened my eyes to areas that I simply need to brush up on.

Of course, the weakness in these results is that it comes from only 60 questions.

Very nice. Im scoring 75ish on my CFAI exams, way to close for comfort. 83% carries a solid margin.
 
Can't really take it as overly indicative. That Alt investment score. You 66% is because you got ONE wrong!

Exactly. And to invoke a little economics, so long as the marginal return is higher than the average return, the average return will increase.

In other words, if I had more questions to answer, I probably would have been able to bump that score up a little.

Mock exams, here I come.
 
Very good start.. Sample exam 1 and 2 are pretty straight forward... Sample 3 and Mock 1 are a lot more demanding.. Good luck
 
I found Sample 3 (60 ques) much easier than sample 1 and 2....got btw 70-75 in all 3.
Have not taken mcks yet.
 
I am regretting that I spent so much time on Qbank. Qbank is a joke in comparison to CFAI Samples (60 ques). Have not taken mocks(120Q) yet. My eyes have opened.
