There’s definitely a difference between “i thought i did well” and ” i aced the exam”. I was in the latter camp last year and I ended up bombing the AM section. After reading through the 2014 exam, when the CFAI published it, I realized that I missed almost every “trick”.
How bad was your AM last year?
I think I passed only 3 questions and was <50 on 5 or 6 questions. I was expecting to see >70 on 7+ questions. AM could have been salvageable with a great PM score, but I didn’t do that well there either.
This is not bad.
I was really confident about my AM performance, but somehow I got 10 questions <50% and only 1 question with 50%-70%.
For the PM I felt good about the first 40 questions; the other 20 were more difficult and I expected to make more mistakes in those ones and my PM score matched my expectations.

Level 1 - counted all guesses & uncertain answers, knew I passed as I walked out the door
Level 2 - counted all guesses & uncertain answers, knew I passed as I walked out the door
Level 3 - Finished AM without leaving blanks, totally nailed PM except Ethics
Felt good after exam, but only gave myself 60~70% chance of passing at best cuz I knew AM is a wild card that will certainly act against me, which proven to be the case (4/3/4 AM).
