So far, I have for sure missed 4. On one I changed the answer from right to wrong. I should’ve got the other 3 easy.

Missed the first alt HF one
Missed the NPV / EAA one.
Missed the CF/ Synth CDO one
I probably missed 25 in the first and 15 in the second, so not liking my odds.
Now ill somebody please tell me whether it’s the cash flow cdo or syntheic in the AM fixed!!!?

The differences are pretty obvious, why don’t you look up what the two are and figure it out? Who is to say some other numbnut is going to give you the right answer.

PM - I missed at least 5 easy ones. Not a good feeling at All…

Collateralized debt obligations (CDO) can be structured as cash-flow deals. With cash flow CDOs, an investment bank sets up a vehicle to acquire a diverse portfolio of fixed income assets. The vehicle issues several classes of bonds (called tranches) which rank in sequential order of priority. This is called the capital structure of the transaction.
A Synthetic CDO (Collateralized Debt Obligation) is a complex financial security used to speculate or manage the risk that an obligation will not be paid (i.e., credit risk). It is a derivative, meaning its value is derived from events related to a defined set of reference securities that may or may not be owned by the parties involved.
From those definitions it’s a synthetic. And from all of you talking about the CFAI checking, have you seen the level 3 forum? They’ve given away the whole test

I made educated guesses on 15 on the AM and 17 on the PM. Also had 2 pure guesses in addition to those, so 34. Felt pretty confident on the rest. I did counts like this on all my mocks and was +/- 3% every time, so I’m hoping thats the case here. With a little luck from my guesses I think I’ll pass.
Don’t know why everyone felt the PM was so much easier than the AM, thought they were both about equal. Didn’t see any “tricks” but did see a couple things that didn’t jump out at me the first time I did the Q’s that luckily I caught when I went back to the ones I wasn’t sure on at the end. They weren’t tricks that I missed, just either missing one small step or in one I remember I didn’t notice a note that was relevent under the exhibit. The wrong answer I originally had was once of the selections as well.

i made a blunder on am session. I did one question and at the end of the session came back to check and found that my answer was wrong. i erased the wrong one , however due to dark mark the answer could not be erased completely (some faint mark still remained). Just wanted to know whether machine will grade this ??. The correct answer was marked pretty dark by me. I am afraid that machine will void the question for me.
Anyone faced similar problem??

When you folks mean missed - it’s the ones you guessed on in the test? Or the ones that you determined are wrong after the test

Coming out of the exam - Maybe missed 5-10 total.
Now after overthinking it - Missed approx. 120 total

I just wish I knew how I did, just as well as you guys :( My broadest guess is that I would have made around 15+ mistakes in each session - I am just hoping these are not in Ethics, Equity and Financial Statement Analysis.

I was talking about ones I wasn’t confident on in the exam. I did calculations and was able to arrive at an answer or make a educated guess as to what the answer was, but they took me a while and I wasn’t sure if the calculations I did were correct. Lots of these I would do calculations and get an answer that wasn’t an option, so I would play around with it until I found a calculation that seemed to make sense to get me to an answer that was available. I should get about 1/2 of these right I would say, thats what I’m counting on anyways.

Unlever beta, I mean I thought we didn’t need to know that formula. I knew the formula though still wasn’t able to come up with right calculation.
Also getting a fair value based on company comparable approach. In the CFA books we always encountered multiples to compare of PE PCF PB PS. This time they threw in EV/Ebitda.
Cost of equity in corporate finance. Does anyone recall that formula? R= ro + d/e(ro-rd)*1-tr? Does 17% sound ok?

10 in am…15 in pm….let’s round it off to 30….educated guess would see 10 correct…let’s say only 5 are correct…..that a score of 95 questions which are probably correct….hoping that not more than 15 are wrong….80 correct questions should see me through.
