interesting question for ethics

I am working for brokerage firm. If I told my client that the accountancy for Enron is smart, which can be regarded as praise, am I violate from any ethical standards? If so, please identify one or some.

I think we have a small language barrier here, oversun.

But I'll attempt to be helpful.

First of all, remember that on the exam, there are all multiple choice questions. Which is why the other questions you see posted here are also multiple choice.

In your example there is not enough information to answer. But if you had a reasonable basis for recommending Enron, then there was no violation.

There are no ethical standards that say you can't be stupid. The "accountancy" for Enron was slimy and sent a bunch of people to jail. Distinctly not smart. You didn't do that anytime recently, did you?

well, you are acting unethical in the sense that you're communicating on behalf of the entire firm. or rather, you are expressing a view which might be construed as the firms view which would be damaging to the firms reputation
