Hi, has anyone had experience with Arif Irfanullah’s videos, pariticularly for level 2? He posted a couple free samples on Youtube, and it’s pretty helpful. He charges $180 for the entire curriculum, which is very reasonable imo. I was just wondering has anyone had personal experience with them? How do they compare with videos from other companies like Schweser? Thank you in advance.

Hi Dear,
I have subscribed to Arif Irfanullah L2 video and they are pretty good. I had taken L1 practice video and in my succes they have played critical role. I have also subscribed to FINSTRUCTOR MOCK TEST SERIES AND they too are of good standard.

Hi,
I subscribed to his videos for Fixed Income in Level 2. Must say they were of great help and the good thing is you can always subscribe to individual video on topics as well.
Sorry but I didnt watch videos of Schweser, but I used Stalla for Level 1. Nobody can beat Peter Olinto, except that Irfanullah videos were very much better than the other videos of the rest from Stalla. Hope this helps!

hi to all …
i am the real example infront of you guys .. in L1 i used Arif’ lec.. its really good . y we study schweser an other stuff if we have detailed comprehensive curriculum . the speciality of his lec is curriculm .. also i used his lec in L2 as well .. currently i am result awaiting hope i will qualify it ..
beside all he quickly respond to ur querries online quiz and quiz explanation . past mocks ans question explanation and also no doubt the Crash Course it really helps to review quickly .. and what you gus are disscusing that 180 $ 180 $, its very much reasonable i believe no one can pay the servics of a teacher in real sense …

All I know is that someone was spamming the L3 forums about those videos. If that someone has any relation to this guy, that’s a questionable practice ethically right there.
I believe all the posts above me are from real people who have no economic ties to those videos, but I wouldn’t bet my house on that.
Maybe the videos are actually the best around, but the marketing (if that was marketing) wasn’t so good.
How many hours of videos are there? Any links to samples?

I don’t know why I wasted time doing this, but I’m going to call BS on this one.
Here’s an YouTube vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6W-rV4hvOE
There all the comments have amazing reviews. Really. I’ve never saw some guy get as much praise on YouTube.
Even though his credentials aren’t that great (when he presents his credentials he doesn’t say he’s a charterholder).
Even though his comments about Schweser are wrong (he says Schweser asks questions from their content and not the curriculum, which isn’t true - their L3 mocks ask a bunch of stuff that is NOT on Schweser notes). That may not be a good thing fro Schweser, but he gave wrong info right there.
Now what really bothered me is that most of the comments are from 4 weeks ago. I actually clicked on 4 of those commenters and every single one of them had their last YouTube activity on June 07. So, basically, those guys commented praising this dude as the most amazing video guy ever and then never came back to YouTube to do anything else. Either those guys completely lost interest on YouTube on exactly the same day - the day they posted uncredibly positive reviews on these videos, or maybe something fishy is going on.
Plus the dude sounds boring.
Whoever studied for any level of the CFA is familiar with the concept of Red Flags - those videos have Red Flags all over them. Maybe the guy is just pure awesomeness, but would you bet your pass/fail on that?
Study the curriculum (or whatever provider you like) and do EOCs and blueboxes as many times as you can - that’s free and helps a lot - ask anybody who passed.

I have passed level I exam using his videos and practising questions from curriculum. I do not agree with your points about him. I myself attempted Swheser mock exam for december 2011 exam, I found no relevance of the questions with actual cfa exam. You asked for links to his videos, you can access his all level I videos for free from his website http://www.arifirfanullah.com/
Of course you like them. Every single one of your previous is an advertisement of one of those videos. You should change your name to Red Flag # 25. In my country, you would all be facing jail time. By the CFAI Standard of Ethics, if arifirfanullah has anything to do with the posts above, he should lose his status as a charterholder (misrepresentation). That is, IF he’s a charterholder.
If you want to deceive analysts, at least be a little more clever about it. I think that spam can be viewed as a personal insult to our intelligence.
Edit: Just sent a message to Chad regarding the possible spamming in this thread. It appears that Suneel Harish is the only spammer though - the other accounts seem pretty legit.

Well Suneel did you find any relevance of the end of chapter questions of CFAI curriculum with the actual Level II exam?? Because I most certainly did not!

HI Crazyman,
I can confirm that I did use his videos for Fixed Income in Level 2 and were helpful to me. Fixed Income was boring to me anyway so I dont know if he was boring on other topics as well.
Sorry, I never wanted to misrepresent anything here and Ive no relation to Mr.Irfanullah and Mr.Irfanullah has got nothing to do with me posting my comments here.

Crazyman, you are wasting your time in finance, move to FBI dude.
PS: I am no way linked to any test promotion company, nor I am trying to insult any :)

Here is my response to the accusations being made.
First of all I’ve only created videos for CFA L1 and L2. Hence I have no idea why people are talking about my L3 videos… because at this point in time they do not exist! It also follow that any comments I make are in the context of L1 and L2.
Coming now to the point of why I received so much praise on my YouTube Video all close to the same date. The answer is simple. After the June exam I sent out a mail to my students requesting them to post a testimonial if they indeed liked the videos and benefited from them. Some students posted their comments in the next couple of days. This is roughly like a testimonials section on website. I don’t see anything wrong or unethical about that. Those who want to see completely unsolicited comments can go through the 100+ videos I’ve posted on YouTube. Here you’ll see both praise and criticism.
Now Schweser. First of all I used Schweser for L1 and these notes helped me pass the exam. So I’m not saying candidates should avoid Schweser. I’m simply saying that candidates should not use Schweser exclusively. Schweser is a good summary… and no summary can be complete. After many years of teaching CFA L1 and L2 I’m convinced that candidates should at least go over the Curriculum Examples and Practice Problems. While Schweser questions are decent practice and help you learn the material, they are generally not the same quality as Curriculum questions. Hence I make my students do Schweser questions AND Curriculum questions. If someone is short of time and can only focus on one thing, then I have them do the Curriculum questions. I share this advice with all CFA candidates. You are free to accept or reject this advice.

Why would a prep provider ‘encourage’ their customers to submit ‘testimonials’ on a third party website? It may be ok in that part of the world, but out here one simply pays for advertising.
I have not used this service and hence don’t have any feedback on the quality of the offerings.

This is my first post on AF - avid reader of the forums - saw this thread and felt the need to post - I did both level 1 and level 2 with him (result in 14 days - fingers crossed!); used his videos extensively and constantly pestered him with questions over email - I’ve got to say he is the most helpful teacher I’ve had - the videos are very curriculum focussed and really help you nail the core concepts - its really useful to be able to watch a specific example or particular concept closer to the exam and have him work through it - I have a liberal arts background so level 2 was particularly challenging for me but I walked out of the exam fairly confident - As far as the schweser videos go, I think they don’t go into as much detail, nor do they cover the curriculum examples like he does - to be fair, I’ve only seen the quant video of schweser (it was a free trial thing) but the Indian dude teaching it talks at you, not to you - Arif’s videos have a very class room feel to it - I’d strongly recommend him!

I haven’t seen many people so confident and another ironic part is hailtothevictors joined yesterday only.

there is nothing unethical … i used his vedio lec and it was realy worthable man .. and crazyman you should try once .. see his free vedios and then you wud surely change your mind ..

Hmmm… Did see the free youtubes. When one spends so much time on scatter plots @ level 2, you have to give props to that instructor……

Are you serious? That’s such a tiny part of the curriculum that is rarely tested. I’d be very wary of providers whose only testimonials are themselves suspect.

I thought the pun intended was obvious :)

Arif is fantastic. The only reason why I will fail CFA Level II exams is that I knew about his videos in April, 2012 some two months before the exam, rather late.
