I am currently a L2 and want to get my MBA when I finish the CFA. I live in NYC and would like to stay here. Like a lot of people who want to stay in the city, I would rank my choices: 1. Columbia, 2. NYU, 3. everything else. When you factor in the education and recruiting, at what point is the MBA not worth it? If, for example, Fordham was the only school I got into, would it be money well spent? Would there be an ample amount of recruiters, or would I be on my own? Thanks for the incite.

You should probably check out Fordham's (or whatever other schools you are looking at) career center website. Look at placement stats, average starting salaries, companies that recruit on campus, etc.

I suppose it really depends on your background and what you want to do after the MBA program.

I would say Fordham is not worth it. CFA will give you a higher ROI.
NYU/Columbia definitely worth it. If you're already in financial services with decent job and not looking to switch field (e.g. from marketing to finance), Stern's part-time may even make more sense particularly if your employer is willing to pay.
