Hey all. I’m a full time MSF student and I just began a sell side equity research internship. My plan had always been to use sell side as a platform to jump to the buy side. However, I didn’t realize how dull the job would be. My basic problem is that I like valuation and analyzing company fundamentals, but I tire of the tedium involved with writing the reports.
Note: I don’t HATE the job. I’m just disappointed with it. Is it more fun on the buy side?
Thanks.

what use is an analyst if he/she do not present his/her findings?
Buy side is the same, we analyze, model, and PRESENT TO THE PORTFOLIO MANAGERS. But there’s more leeway in format of presentations tho. I have done full reports 10pgs+ and have presented investment ideas on a 1/2 page of notebook paper.

I love the way the question is positioned so as to compare it to a night in the sack with Priya Rai. I mean come on, its WORK. Thats why people drink and need wives and girlfriends.

10 whole pages huh? You buying the stock or the whole damn company?
Just messing with you. You’re right, you should be able to get any good investment thesis into about 3 pages.

Or one napkin. Just make sure the graph on that napkin has an “uptrend.”
