Hi,
Does anyone know whether CFA is good for corporate banking or should I take some accouting designation.
Thanks

go for the CA designation (or its equivalent if you are not in N America)...CFA not much helpful outside the investment field.

HI SuperManalyst, I am in North America. Any further advice??

I am in Corporate Banking and just took Level I in June. It definitely is not very prominent in CB, in took a lot of convincing to get my dept. to pay for it. I work for the CB wing of a large B/D and most people with CFAs are in equity research or asset management/alternative investments. I am the current lone ranger in CB going for the CFA.

It may not be the best thing for the way my current job is going, but it does coincide with a lot of work I do and it will pay off in the long-term for my career, that can be gaurenteed.

Thanks FloridaGator,
Yesterday I met a Relationshio manager working in Corporate Banking and I asked the same question to him and he replied back saying that, he has done CMA as well as CFA and I asked him which one was better and he could not answer. I just need an entry in Coporate banking, I have an MBA with major in Finance and I know I can do any damn exam but I wont to be sure which one to take as I should not end up taking one and in the end they say "you know you should have done this instead of this" you know what I mean.
