Hi everyone. This is my first message in the forum. Id like to know what do you think about the CFA popularity to work in Europe.

Im thinking to aply for next December 2008 and even I would like to spend some time working abroad, but I,m afraid about the posibility it isn,t so recognized in my country (Spain) like in US. Ive been searching salaries in Europe for CFA holders and is much less than in US (if I consider parity dolar-euro).

Thank you.

I believe it's becoming more and more well-known also in Europe. Maybe you could find some useful references through here http://www.effas.com/

www.efinancialcareers.com

Keyword: CFA
Countries:
- Spain => 1 offer
- Italy => 2 offers
- France => 3 offers
- Germany => 8 offers
- UK => 110 offers
- USA => 219 offers

I think everything is said there.

But in 6 months time we will see:

Keyword: CFA
Countries:
- Spain => 0 offer
- Italy => 0 offers
- France => 0 offers
- Germany => 3 offers
- UK => 4 offers
- USA => 7 offers

LOL Xris

I could have balanced this with:
- Switzerland => 24 offers

I guess that CFA is first of all an anglo-saxon diploma. In the other european countries mentionned, your initial diploma makes the biggest of your chances, especially if you just graduated.

Besides, as it has already been discussed here, CFA w/o experience makes it really harder to break into the industry (e.g. John Smith - Butcher, CFA)

Because rather than establish that they're right, it's more fun to prove that they're probably not wrong.

Franck, did you pass any level and especially the quants section w/o believing in the predictive power of stats?

I passed level 1 and a maths degree not believing in the predictive power of stats.
