I am just wondering what you know about the CFC (Chartered Financial Consultant). Is it any good? Do employers in banking and investment ask for it? How does it stand against the CFA.

If you are referring to the ChFC in the U.S. -- In my opinion (and others that I know that are planners), it is a step below the CFP designation (which puts the ChFC far below the CFA-IMHO). I can't speak for all employers in banking and investment, but at my firm, all advisors must hold the CFP designation (prior to being hired).

Once again, not sure if we are discussing the same designation...

It's this one:

I don't even know what that website is selling. ChFC is at least a known and decent designation in the life insurance business. Not close to CFA.

I thought it was California Fried Chicken (CFC) - It's famous in Asia. Just kidding - don't get mad..

Dreary - I took a look at the link. The ChFC I mentioned above is obviously a different designation than the designation you are referring to...

Ignore my first post.

ChFC for personal finance

CFC appears to be for corp finance
