Level I contains some of the basic concepts that being a finance student one must remember for his/her life.
One must ALWAYS know about beta, systematic risk, discount rate, type of markets, type of dividends, types of derivatives, types of ratios, leverage, gearing ratio, sharpe ratio, syndicate financing, underwriting arrangements, hedge funds, treasury stock, matching principle, going concern value, sinking fund, covenants, irr, npv, sunk cost, risk free rate, market indices, market risk premium, covariance, correlation, type 1 error, type 2 error, CAPM, REPOs and so many other small things.
During an interview, If you can’t recall these basic concepts in time then you are doomed. This is why I love my Elan’s Eleventh Hour. Not only that book helped me in my Level I, but it also refreshes my memory for job interviews from time to time.
PS: I know i have deviated a bit from the OP’s question. It is not a requirement to refresh Level I for Level II, but my point is one should remember Level I stuff for life!
