Is it too late to start for Level 3? If yes, what strategy to adopt to crack the exam? Is EOC questions must ?

Nah it’s not and at worst you’ve got a seriously good foundation for next year. Bang through the Schweser books in 3 weeks, do the CFAI EoC’s over about 10 days and then 2 weeks of past papers.
If you assume 3hrs a night and all day weekends you can rack up over 200hrs easily before the exam and should have a chance. Just do it

if your IQ is 160+, you can start next month and it would be ok. If your IQ is 80, you should start now for next year’s exam.

Certainly still doable. Most people I know that have passed the CFA exams started studying on the first week of May.
However, they had 5 weeks of vacations, were highly focused and smart people and were ready to go through real hell for 5 weeks.
You have to decide for yourself if you have these attributes.

This is clearly not the ‘norm’ and you should not bank on view point.
The majority of people I know that pass the CFA exams start in Dec/Jan and take 2 weeks off before the exam to nail the last points home.
If it’s a free test, meaning full compensation from your employor, then you might as well crack open the book and get at it. If not you’re probably wasting your time and money at this point.

And - knowing Germans - started studiyng in September))).
I can not but laugh hearing such stories…

You can laugh all you want but I am describing what I have observed so far, basing myself on many observations.
And no, I don’t think that it is the way to go. In fact, I started in January. Just stating that at this point, it is still very doable under restrictive assumptions.
My gut feeling though is that the TS does not fit in these restrictive assumptions and will fail at this point if he tries.

Realistically it’s too late. There are some extreme outliers that could do it – but that’s not likely to be you.

Every year someone starts a thread like this. This is Level III, I’d assume by now you know there’s no shortcuts, put in the effort and you will pass.

You forgot to mention it is your 2nd attempt))). Sorry, just not buying it. Totally agree with the post above.

What aren’t you buying ? That I know many people that started in may and passed ?
Also don’t know where you are getting with my second attempt.

Thanks for all the views. To clarify a few points,
i. this is my first attempt
ii. I will avail 4 weeks leave
iii. My IQ is avg
I agree with some of the views stating this will atleast make a strong foundation for next year as also having paid the fee there is no harm giving my best shot. So, here i go………
Since I dont have the luxury of time, I will restrict to Schweser and EOC.
Thanks once again for all the encouragement.

From my decent experience in life (i’ve been living for the past years), I believe that pb73 will pass this year while all of us in this thread will fail. Classical case of irony

Most” - How do you expect anyone to take you seriously on this forum making such outlandish statements.

^^I don’t get why you are so upset. lol.
Feel free to not believe it, I don’t care. As for you not taking me seriously, I care even less.

If you have signed up for the exam, study as much as you can during weekdays and put in 10-12 hours everyday on weekend and holidays. Give your very best, atleast you know you the did the best you could given the time you have to study. Dont waste any time and utilize every minute you got. Wish you all the best with you preperation.

It is not late. Rather it is the ideal time as there are 50 days left so on an avg if u invest 6 hrs that would be 300 hrs which is the recommended reading anyways for CFA Level 3. You may have to finish the Schwser reading by April end. Dont focus on remembering. Just try to undestand the concept when u r reading. There would be around 20% of the material which would be speedbreakers. Ignore them in the first reading. As someone suggested in this forum elsewhere try GIPS/Ethics by solving as many questions as possible. It is better to solve the past years papers and complete the mock test first and then do the EOC questions . The key point is to finish the AM session as candidates normally complain of not finishing it and then carry the despai to the PM session. Last 10 days should be devoted to taking as many tests as possible. All the best . [ PS- I myself am a Level 3 taker and am am aware of many candidates who have just started the Leevl 3 syllabus]
