Is studying putting a strain on anyone else's relationships?

My gf just told me she’s unhappy and has been the last month or so and all my friends have stopped calling and texting me because they think I’m “dead.” Anyone else dealing with issues like these?
 
yeah, i was in the almost the exact same scenario last year for level 2. at least this time round it could be over for once and for all by 1 week today.
or what if I actually died last year and this is purgatory…
 
If you made it through L1 and L2 without any complaints consider yourself a lucky man.
 
Easy solution. Pass the exam, dump your gf (upgrade accordingly).
As for your friends, they sound like jabronis. No need to keep those relationships going

In my opinion, if your gf does not understand the importance of CFA at this point, you’ve chosen wrong my man.
She is going to reap benefits from it-if she is not prepared to sacrifice a little for it, I would say let her go she does not deserve you.
My 2 cents.
 
I think I’m the luckiest in this regard…….my gf is so incredibly nice to me every “CFA season”. A friend recently asked me what I’m going to do after I’m past level 3…….I said, “Are you kidding me, I’m going to take challenging tests until I die……because Erin is so damn nice to me when she knows the tests are kicking my arse”.
For example, she’s vaccuuming my house right now, is planning on making me cookies tonight, and for lunch I’m going to eat the left over pizza she brought me last night.
(I imagine she’s waiting for a ring at the end of the CFA journey).
Guilt is kicking in, back to the books.
 
My wife and I haven’t even been married 2 years and I feel like all we’ve ever known as a married couple has been “CFA Season.” She has been a saint. Any guilt I have about studying is entirely self-incurred. I feel like every sentence between the two of us ends with “after the test…” Planning a nice getaway the weekend after the test to celebrate, but mostly just to thank her for being so understanding.
My friends aren’t as understanding, mainly because they don’t understand the magnitude of this test and think my study hours are overkill.
 
Luckily my girlfriend is studying for ACA (UK accountancy exams) which works quite nicely.
But she made me take her to Paris the week after level 2 last year for being a complete hermit for the two months before the exam!
 
My boyfriend tolerates my CFA freakouts. He’s a keeper :) But I imagine he’s ready for me to be finally done with all this nonsense! ONE MORE WEEK!
 
I don’t have a girlfriend and I don’t do stuff with my friends on a regular basis, so no real impact over here. Though I am disappointed I missed the memorial day long weekend trip.
 
I’m yes- in fact, I’m confident my other 1/2 is making plans to leave me if I fail :) Well, not really, but it sure feels that way.
 
My fiancee is more supportive than I could ever ask for - she has grocery shopped and cleaned our place for the past 2 months or so while I get in extra study time, she cooks (when I’m home for dinner), and bakes me something every weekend (cheesecake, red velvet cake, cupcakes, brownies, etc.). She fully understands and accepts my dedication to finishing this and getting back to normal life - before I start up a much shorter GMAT study period. I consider myself quite fortunate as I’ve seen the toll this program takes on others and their relationships. We’re planning a wedding for early fall. She made sure we got the major work done early this year in January so that we had virtually nothing to do all spring. Anything that needs to be done for the wedding is fine to wait until after June 7.
I need to pass real bad…
 
my hubby is very supportive in all 3 levels, especially last three weeks where i become a very cranky, emotional bitch (esp after 45 score in mocks).
he buys me food, stored some commedies in the ps3 network (so i can watch them while taking a break eating my meal).
he took me to the beach last week seeing how stressed out i am. it was nice reading schweser and doing mocks by the beach while sipping iced tea. somehow that improved my mock score considerably.
we’re married only 3 years. the past 2 years have been rough.
 
I’m married with a 3yr old and 1 yr old (had my first daughter a month before i started studying for Level 1)… my wife and i both work full time. life has been hard as shit, but i wouldn’t be where i am now if it weren’t for my wife… agreeing with some of the others, sounds like your gf is either immature or doesn’t fully comprehend what you’re doing to change your life 100-fold (by getting the CFA charter)…and your friends are prob in their mid-late 20s still going to happy hr on a Wednesday night. Your friends will come crawling back to you when your rolling around in a a Maserati in 10 yrs, and you prob won’t even remember the girl’s name you were dating when you did the CFA exams :) (mostly kidding)…. keep fighting my friend, we’re almost at the end of the rainbow.
one thing i’ve learned through all of this, some great wisdom from my father after venting about how hard doing the CFA exams while working and having 2 children under the age of 3: “nobody will understand what you’re going through until they go through it themselves.” i sleep easy at night knowing that each and every day i literally do everything i am physically, mentally and emotionally capable of doing - not many ppl in this world can go through what all of us CFA candidates are going through.
 
I’m married with a 9yr old, a 7yr old and an 11 month old baby. been hard on both of us buty my wife has been a tremendous source of support to me throughout the program. couldn’t have done it otherwise. don’t know how people do it without support from their spouse/signifcant other…. enough stress without that
 
my fiance is taking a condensed course towards her chemical engineering masters. One things for sure, it makes the cfa look easy in terms of difficulty (not breadth), but our house is miserable right now. Its “fun” responding to snapchats of people out partying with our crazy friday and saturday nights studying at the kitchen table.
