Is the CFA for me? Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys - Thanks again for the feedback - Everything I have stated is true - contracting is the way forward.
The point of my thread is, would the CFA (even having studied and passed level 1) allow me to demand an increase in my salary or simply just lead to more varied work?
And, will it give an opportunity to enter into a potentially high paying FO role?
Any more ideas about the CQF course instead?

It is decision time - I pretty much have to decide in the next couple of days as the classroom lectures start on Monday evening……!
A girl I work with sounded very together and failed the June 2008 exam. I will be funding the course myself (at about 2K GBP).
Will it improve my contracting rate in BO once I pass level 1?
Will it improve my chances of getting into a higher paid FO role?
Will it ruin my social life for the next 4 months (I already know the answer to this one!)?
Absolutely ANY feedback at this stage is very much appreciated. Thank you.
