dang, just about 64% borderline. i would pass you!

Probably not. I didnt do out the 40/60/80 thing but your 70+'s is for all 3 of the small sections and ethics. Below 50 is killer...

Using 40/60/80 you're at 63.67%. You're close but I'm not sure how many pass/fail decisions have been overturned. Not sure if it's worth the extra $$$.

Sure, I get 63.3% based on 40/60/80, but still pass. Although 40/60/80 is not official, it deserves a try.

No. This comes up all the time. People ask if they should spend the $100. Super I calls them derogatory names. They waste the $100 or not and that's all. I've never heard of anyone getting a pass from a fail this way.

Thats my score

But between July and January..there are 6 rigorous month and I am afraid of facing it.

I have also heard from a reputable source that the CFAI have never overturned a Pass/Fail decision in their history. Given this fact, this is like purchasing a $100 lottery ticket

Doesn't make sense and don't forget you still have December. We'll see you in the L2 forum some time in January and pass it together next year.

Never give up..

NO---definitely not worth disputing

According to one of the senior CFAI guys in Charlottesville I talked with last year----NEVER----EVER has a score been overturned on a retab---which is the $100.00 thing. Don't do it!

Let's put this in perspective for all of the people who are thinking about a retab.

Yes, the 40/60/80 score for White is 63.7 but the reality is that his ACTUAL score fell somewhere between a low of 51, and a high of about 77. We don't know what the real score is, but if the computer can take the actual scores and properly bucket them, I think we can assume it can add up the real numbers that create the buckets, compare it to the pass rate, and figure out whether to print "Pass" or "Fail" on top of the page.

The only reason I can see to ever ask for a retab (manual grade) is if you stuided somewhat, thought you did okay, but got below 50 in EVERYTHING, which might imply that you used the wrong type of pencil.

By the way, if you can't figure out where I got the high and low scores, you probably womn't pass L2.

White - my sincere apologies for not passing this time around. I feel for you truly. But do not despair. Just build on your good knowledge now for Dec 07. It's not like there is a Level II exam in Decemeber. Plus, think of it as good practice for the Level II in 08. Knowledge will be fresh so you can have a good go at it.

I failed in Dec 06 and did not know where to go. I feel I was very much borderline and felt I could not put any more work into it. But from Jan 07 to June 07 I just hammered my weak areas (Economics and FSA) day in day out - without neglecting the others of course. I passed this time round with scores > 70 in those areas. Here were my results for Dec 06 - I asked for a regrade and within 2 weeks they came back saying nothing had changed. I've only heard of one story where a re-tabulation made a difference and that was because there was a fault with the machine + lots of rubber marks on the answer sheet.

Dec 06 Result

Level 1: Fail
