Hi JK,

I just checked your score (below)

Multiple Choice Q# Topic Max Pts <=50% 51%-70% >70%
------------------------------------------------------------------
- Alternative Assets 12 - * -
- Derivatives 12 - * -
- Economics 24 - * -
- Equity Analysis 24 - * -
- Ethical & Professional Stnds. 36 - * -
- Financial Statement Analysis 68 - * -
- Fixed Income Analysis 24 - * -
- General Portfolio Management 12 * - -
- Quantitative Analysis 28 - * -

40/60/80 says your total is 59% which is not possible. I know this 40/60/80 is just an approximation of marks. I got 60% (Failed) with 3 sections more than 70%.

It sucks big time..........

40/60/80 is not a foolproof method. If we take the extreme values, JK could score even up to 68%, which is more than enough for a pass.

12*.69=8.28
12*.69=8.28
24*.69=16.56
24*.69=16.56
36*.69=24.84
68*.69=46.92
24*.69=16.56
12*.49=5.88
28*.69=19.32

Total 163 about 68%

Hello guys,

I am new to this forum, but I have also failed my June CFA1 test. I was not aware that this forum existed before the exam.
Many a stupid question, but what is the 40/60/80 rule? Can this help me to pass in December??
Any advise is welcome
