Let me throw this here and see what you guys think.

I assume that you are currently pursuing the CFA charter and is working full-time in an area other than finance/investment/Equity research; say you are in IT.

If you are offered a job where the employer expect you to work part of the time as an analyst in the research department and part of the time on your current responsibilities, what will be your reaction?

I think, if you do not have any experience, its difficult to find a good job even after finishing the CFA exams. So if somebody offers a job of the above nature, will you be happy to take it?

Dreams or whatever.. I got a call a week ago for an investment research company; I said about my goals and yesterday I got another call saying they are inetrested and can create a position that fit my current situatuion and career interests.

I knew I should be happy about this. But my only worry is if I am jumping into this too early.

doesnt happen normally in our world , these day it is a layingggggggggggg offf culture. so if u got go 4 it if u think u can do it . where is it btw , country location etc

I say go for it...this is a tough job market...I got my MBA in may and still looking...I am hoping passing level I will hep my odds...i am trying to do sell side equity research...

i can say that for sure this does not happens in india , because of high competition and quality of applicants for single job , fresher would never get a chance when companies can get experianced hire. i know some guys they are all quant chaps simply grt.

where did u pursue mba from , general mba does not promise a job as it is not a skill , a icing of cfa could help though. try and get some entry level roles unless you have a top mba

Yeah, would really like to know where you guys got your MBA from (name of school; not rank!). Would be a great help.
