Has anyone else noticed that the CFA JobLine absolutely blows? All the jobs on there redirect to eFinancialCareers.com, and half of them are old or no longer exist! You’d think that they would have jobs targeting people either in the program or who are already charterholders. What benefit does it provide?
What sites do most people use? I’ve checked out Doostang but it seems geared towards recent grads looking to break in…. I’ve been a trader for about 7 years now. eFinancialCareers seems to be all recruiters, which is just like a meat grinder/black hole. Every single recruiter wants to send my resume to Two Sigma or WorldQuant… been there, done that., and I’m not in Mensa so I didn’t get an offer. Indeed.com seems decent, but a lot of redicrects to EFC, Doostang, and other stale/deleted posts.
Is there a good site out there that I am missing?

I’ve primarily used indeed.com and simplyhired. I believe both sites are just web scrapers so they both do a good job of showing you what’s available. One thing I’ve learned is to heavily use the exclusion operator in the title search. Here’s mine for indeed.com.
fixed income analyst credit “fixed income” title:(analyst -developer -data -reporting -operations -business -collateral -control -middle -municipals -municipal -muni -treasury -processing -accounting -junior -product -products -systems -technical -compliance -system)
Bottom line though, job market sucks right now for finance roles.

I got an interview the first time I used jobline. Worked better than others because they are targeting CFA charterholders, which I am. Other public websites are a crapshoot.
Just my 2 cents.

The best way is to get a linkedin account, there will be recruiters looking for you.
Other than that, a reputable recuitment agency is good if you come across good agents who are happy to work with you - that is almost by chance though.
I have to say, network and referrals are still the most important thing to have. if not the job directly, perhaps a firend works in recruitment who can refer you to a colleagues who specializes in financial institution?

jobline is a site that will occasionally get a good job. But most does link to other sites

Curious, is linkedin usage a regional thing? Where I’m from, most people have an account but literally nobody actually does anything with it.

Really?
Linkedin is not big in Japan, but i thought linkedin is big in North America…
Perhaps you don’t post enough information on your account for recruiters to see you?

linkedin has pretty good jobs i applied to one for shits and giggles and was actually contacted to come in for an inteview but i declined.
mb its because most of these are in new york?
