I have cleared CFA Level II last year. What are the job prospects in USA if Level II is cleared and if one is there on the spouse visas.
Folks please help as it is a matter of life and career.
Thanks!!!

What else do you have? If all you have is L2, that’s not enough

Level II alone may get you a raised eyebrow and get someone to answer your call. from what i’ve seen, it wont knock anyone’s socks off or offer you a gig easily.
more important will be your past work experience and your networking skills. what kinds of roles would you be interviewing for? if its front office research, you should have sample research reports built that you can talk through, or similarly, can talk through an industry pitch. i don’t know how much Level II weighs in for middle and back office roles.

A recruiter looking at your resume that says you passed Level II is kind of the same as saying your only a few credits short of your MBA – they don’t care. Pass Level 3 first, and in the interim network as much as you can. The old “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know” is very, very true.

Thank you all for the comments. Actually, I have also done MBA but that is from India, so I dont know if a due consideration is given to it.. Presntly I am in front office role and have an experience of just 3 years

maybe you can target india-focused research so that you may be able to speak intelligently?

The CFA charter is a qualification for finance and investment professionals, particularly in the fields of investment management and financial analysis of stocks, bonds and their derivative assets. You have to search the jobs in that field. You may also search them online by typing find me a job, career, employment, job employment etc.

^ good point. Yes, make sure you don’t search for jobs like chicken executioner or peach picker while searching for finance jobs online. That’s clearly a problem a ton of people have

CFA is not going to help anyone with any job serarch PERIOD!

Unless you are already in the Investment Management industry and the lead research analyst at say Barclay’s and want to add credibility to your (sell side) research reports or probably grow up the ladder, bonus, etc.
else, folks like you and me are better off doing their MBA’s

I wonder what happened to that guy. After all, it was “a matter of life and career”.
