July 26

Just reading the email saying what day we would get the results made me nervous.

Why do they do this to us? I would rather wake up on the 26th not knowing and see it in my inbox - you know sort of like christmas…..

same…the time between 9 AM and when you actually get notified is not fun
Last two years it’s been nearly two full hours for me. Wanna say I got mine around ~10:50am both times. Absolutely brutal.

So…at the risk of sounding like Peter13 that jokester who posts here sometimes….do you guys know if there is any correlation between when you get the email and your result?
AKA do they tell the passers the result between 9 and 11 AM and the failers between 11 and 1? just for example?

I highly doubt it. For what it’s worth, my Jan 2015 Level I pass email was received at 6:02am (pacific time) and my July 2015 Level II fail email was received at 6:50am. The nice thing about living on the US west coast is I usually wake up to my exam result rather than sweating out a few hours knowing it’s coming.

There is no correlation between the timing of emails being sent. Many people try to use the previous year threads to prove correlation, but you have to remember that many of those that fail will not respond or provide their bands. I think I received my email around 8:15 A.M. CST, so 9:15 A.M. EST, last year and failed with a band 8.

It probably depends more on who your email provider is than what your score is.

There is no correlation. Last year a woman I work with waited until around 11am to find out she passed L2 while another woman I work with found out she failed about an hour prior to that.

I have heard that people who generally fail recieve their results early.
I mean it would be a major pain in the neck if somebody had to wait like 3 hours just to see that they failed.
I hope CFA institute isnt that ruthless.

There is no correlation.
I presume that what you’re really trying to say is that there is a correlation, but that it’s (close to) zero.

That sounds like a correlation of −1.

Very funny, s2000!
300hoursoverandoveragain - I had heard the opposite, that people who received their emails earlier were more likely to pass, which is why I think there is no correlation. For L1 I received my ‘pass’ email quite early, so it would seem odd that they send the L1 pass emails early, but the L2 pass emails late.

I highly doubt there is a correlation, thats not something they need to control. It is just due to the volume of emails going out from the CFAI to various email servers across the entire world all at a specific time. I received my L1 pass earlier than my L2 fail. Had friends who received passes and fails on L2 around the same time as me
