Hi,

I am planning to give L1 in June-05. Please advise whether Dec-04 Schweser notes will be good enough for June-05 exams or not ?? (i heard there are significant differences in LOSs year on year.)

If someone has bought the June-05 notes in India, please get in touch. I am in mumbai.

Thanks,
Vishal

the June 05 schweser won't be available until Dec/Jan if past years are any guide (same goes for most other providers also, they have to wait until AIMR releases the new LOS and then update their notes)

Thanks for the response.

Pls advise whether I should go ahead and buy the Dec-04 notes. I want to start early for the June exams. Or should I start with the books (suggested by AIMR) and wait for the revised notes till Dec/Jan.

hi !
there are some changes in the los, but not vastly. Hence not sure whether its worth taking a risk. i wouldn't like to .

i am yet to find some one who has used past year notes to study for the next year.

If you study religiously/diligently, you have enough time for Dec 04 exams! Gosh... If you start studying now for next June, I can bet you get burnt out. More importantly, you'd forget most things you've studied by next June.

I think you could wait till Nov for the new issues and start right away... personally I think Schweser is concise though not precise (lots of rather minor errors). But good things is most errors (2004 version) have been corrected by now. I passed this June by relying solely on it and the Ethics Text Book. But I studied about 250 hours in all (as recommended by CFAI). No short cut...

If you insist on starting now for JUn 05, I recommend that you start on Econs and Quantitative methods (which USUALLY don't change much in terms of curriculum). For other topics, the changes from previous could be as much as 20%. It is foolish to give up 20% by studying old text.

Good Luck
