Hi everyone. I’m going to be taking the CFA level 1 in December (I’m a Business Management graduate so I feel I need more time than Finance grads to study up on this and 3 months won’t be enough to pass in June).
My question is which is the better learning materials for CFA Level 1. Those by Kaplan Schweser or ELAN Guides. Kaplan seems to be very impressive but I wanted to know the opinions of others.
Thanks

having used both I would say go with elan. Not only are they really affordable, their content is on par with Schwesser. Their videos are very detailed and thorough. The thing I don’t like about Elan is their question bank is online and there aren’t any questions or summaries at the end of the chapter unlike Schwesser. Other than that their stuff is pretty good

Thanks for the advice guys. After much research I have decided to go with Kaplan. The ELAN stuff looks great but I really like the way the Schweser material is presented. There is also the fact that they offer classes in my area whereas none of the other companies do that.
Really looking forward to studying towards this. The syllabus is really interesting stuff!

I like how Schweser has the workbook (basically powerpoint slides) so you can follow the video lectures easier. Does Elan have something similar?

Yes, Elan has videos online and Lectures Notes that go along with the video. Not terribly helpful to me as I like studying from the book but yes it is available.

They do have lecture handouts, but I prefer to watch the videos and take notes in the guides when I need to. I get through the readings quite quickly after watching the videos.
