Hello forum members,
Welcome back to all from a usually tricky examination on Saturday. That said, this post serves to keep hope alive for some of us who felt we didn’t do enough to expect a pass come August. There is nothing as worst as dying before death itself, and by extension here, there is nothing compared to the mental torture of waiting for the result of an exam you know quite well you didn’t pull your weight on.
In the spirit of dousing our tensions and raising our hopes, could we kindly share some very “surprising” results (in our humble opinion) which we had seen in the past, but still nevertheless, made it through the MPS.
For instance: “Greater than 70 in Ethics, Between 50-70 in Quants, FI, AI, CF, FSA, and PM, and Lesser than 50 in the remaining courses.
This should at least, keep hope alive for some of us who didn’t really do well on Saturday, and should also help us enjoy the Summer pending the eventual release of the result in August.
Thanks for sharing and sincere apologies for stressing our memories.
Regards.

I probably failed to be honest. Thinking I got between 55% to 63% of the questions correct. Guessed on nearly every single FI and derivatives item set (am and pm) due to time contstraints. However if I somehow managed to guess right on those it would push me up to mid 60’s.
However, if I do somehow manage to pull it off, well….
Club goin up on a Tuesday.

I’ve seen >70 on FI and FRA, <50 on Deriv., and 50-70 on all others —> the dude passed the exam. He studied exclusively with Schweser after passing Level I in December.

Thanks for the response, but this result wasn’t bad really. This dude only failed just Derivatives. IMHO, I think he was deserving of the pass.

This score translates to:-
Alts-6 Questions-Max 4/6
Derivatives-12 Questions-Max 6/12
Portfolio-12 Questions-Max 8/12
Equity-24 Questions-Max 16/24
Corp Fin-12 Questions-Max 8/12
Econ-1 Question-Max 4/6
Quant-1 Question-Max 4/6
Ethics-2 Questions-Max 8/12
That is 58 correct till now. If i assume 18/24 in FRA and 5/6 in alt, tht crosses 80/120.
I have come across a score which was 76/120 with no section above 70 who passed the exam

There is some pretty good work done on this. You can view the detailed breakdown for like $20 or so on the 300 hours website. They have a pretty accurate estimation. To answer your question. Last years estimated passing rate was 67 and 63 the two years prior. I could be off 1 percentage point and I don’t have the report in front of me. I do remember though, last year, although the MPS was higher so was the number of passing candidates which to me would imply perhaps last years exam was easy on a relative basis. I didn’t sit for it to compare, but I think it’s fair to guess somewhere between those points is most likely. Have you read anything from someone who tested last year and this year as well? I’m interested what everyone is thinking. I thought the morning wasn’t bad but left the afternoon super discouraged. It would probably take a lucky guessing day for me to pass. I feel like 60 is a fair estimate of my score and am pretty dissapointed about it. Who knows though!
