Hello all,
I’m just looking for an internship next year and the most part of the job ads I see (jobs like Analyst) require a perfect command of VBA language, Excel programmation, etc
I can deal with Excel, but I just know the basis principles, and not at all the VBA language.
I would like to learn, I think I can be a good value-added for a resume.
Is it difficult to learn ? Is it really helpful ?
Thanks a lot

The basics of VBA aren’t too hard to learn. I think it’s helpful, since many folks don’t know programming. There are many good books on the subject.

If you have no programming experience, you should take an entry level programming course at your university. Once you know the basics of another language, you will be able to pick up VBA very quickly. Plus, it will be helpful to show that you have some actual training in writing code. Everyone claims to be “self taught” in VBA after learning how to record a macro.

I like the word “programmation.” It sounds cool.

I don’t think my school offers courses like this. I will check it but…
i gonna learn by myself but don’t think it’s the best idea..

I like the idea of taking a basic programming class. Can anyone elaborate a bit on what a class should cover so that you can move into VBA? I just want to see if any of the classes the schools around here cover all the bases.
I do have little to no background as well, although I’m pretty handy in Excel.
