Just wanted to see peoples opnion of the weekly class from Kaplan?
Thanks.

I found it extremely helpful for L2 last year. I used it as a refresher on material i had already read. I’ve only watched the first week’s class so far for L3, and tonight’s class is the second. It’s being taught be Dave Hetherington, if that matters to you.

L2 class is taught by Andrew Holmes, which sets the bar extremely high in my opinion. He was a great teacher and focused on “getting you past this tough exam”. In my opinion at L3, the teachers more go thru the motions, and don’t have the same focus on getting students past the exam.
For example, at the end of last year for L3 they gave very little to none of tips/strategies to guide students as they prepare for the last month of studying. There was pretty much a pat on the back and a good luck wish.
The class at L3 failed in my opinion as a “test prep”. And yes, I failed too.
“Would you look…” if you want those final pointers at the end of the class you might want to start asking for them now. I actually emailed already and they said there weren’t any again this year. If you watch A.Holmes class as I suspect you did. he presented a great strategy for getting thru the test.

Yeah, I took a 3day review seminar in NYC last year for LIII, and got minimal pointers / strategy help, which is all I was looking for really.

I like the class..Keeps you on pace. But yes, Holmes will be tough to beat. I enjoyed listenging to him more for strategy on the exam and what to disregard.
I always try to watch live to keep my schedule on, but they alwasy seem to have tech issues with the broadcast. I really thought they’d get that nailed down over the year…

I took the class last year and passed and had Holmes for L1 and L2. No Doubt Holmes sets the bar, the guy knows how to teach online. I took the first few classes live with a guy who taught at creighton, he wasn’t very good then ended up missing a week bc I had something to do that night and watched Hetheringtons later. I ended up doing recorded classes with Hetherington for the rest of the year as his were much better. Not quite as good as Holmes, but still good. He knew the material and how to teach it. Personally, I learn a lot better hearing someone talk about stuff really well and was able to retain most of the information pretty well. I really just did classes and would then do problems from teh back of the book and some supplemental reading every weekend. The classes forced me to stay on top of the material, so it was worth it for me. FWIW i passed each class first time through with schewser classes and books as my primary material.
