do you have to tell your employer the new company that you'll be working at?
 
Totally depends on the situation.

If it's a competitor, make sure you have your stuff packed in case they ask you to leave immediately.

If they directly ask, and you refuse to tell them, you may have burned a bridge.
 
you don't have to, but is there a reason why you'd withhold it?
 
no particular reason...just not sure what's the proper etiquette, that's all.
 
depends on the situation...when news are broken by you, maybe your current employer may discuss once more your remuneration package...so here you may have bargaining points.

However, surely you can't lie to your current or future employer about what can be later discovered (the world is small). Integrity and honesty are highly valued in our work (not always, but anyway).
 
fortune, I apologize for hijacking this thread.

CFAMontreal -- can you recommend a few fun dance clubs in Montreal? My girlfriend and I are going up there this weekend. We enjoy the standard hip-hop clubs but also like swing and salsa. I'm sorry, numi, I can't recommend you that much...I frequent gay bars, which obviously don't fall in the area of your interest ;)
 
What are some good gay bars CFAMontreal? I haven't been to one and would like to visit one iin the future.
 
I go to Station bar (former Agora), gay/mixed karaoke bar on rue McKay (not far from Guy Concordia metro station). There are some in Gay Village, but I don't go there at all. I don't like to be an object of scrutine valuation...

I'm not from Montreal but I've been there a bunch of times. Try the the loop from Crescent, along Ste-Catherine over to Peel. A few good spots on Crescent. Fun mixed with pretention. Spots like Thursday's, Electric Avenue, Newtown (Jacques Villeneuve's club - Newtown is English for Villeneuve) are all on Crescent and are fun on the right night. A lot of good restaurants around their too. Weinstein & Gavino is good Italian. I wouldn't recommend Newtown for food though, pricey for what you get. If you like a good steak, try Gibby's in the old part of the city. On the pricey side but fantastic. There is a good Thai place on the corner of Crescent and Ste-Catherine also. Great food good prices. Great rib place, the Bar-B-Barn on Guy also (maybe not for a trip with the lady though).
