What are the chances, that since the AIMR/CFAI is making level II all item set, that they announce in August or sooner that they are offering level II in December (ahead of schedule) along with level I? This would make financial sense for them -- they could use the fixed cost of the proctors, exam centers etc. to get more scheduled test takers and their fees.
Also, they should be able to write up an item set test in plenty of time. We could all benefit as the material will be fresher on our minds -- and AIMR/CFAI benefits because not everyone will pass in a proposed December test so they get to collect extra level II revenue for December 2004 and the following June again for the non-passers (kind of like a semi-annual bond coupon).
Also, do you all think the direction is for them to make level III item set, maybe by June 2006? I bet they want to cut grading cost down.
