is it possible to get it from ebay or somewhere and is it within the code to get somewhere other than cfai?
 
that was stupid. i just looked and you can get it. is it allowed? does the material change much from year to year?
 
You can buy it if you'd like.... but then you will buy it again when (if) you register for L2 in two months. The curriculum is included in the registration fee. Also, a good portion of material will probably be added from L1 and L3 as is usually the case.

Also, the exam isn't until next June. I highly suggest that you relax and enjoy the summer before you take the plunge into the hell that is Level 2.
 
I urge you not to do that. This year I bought 2007 material for a good price and prepared until Feb. Thanks to forum participants, I noticed ton of changes in the course work and bought new books right away. It did make lot of difference.

You may save few dollars by buying old material online, but please make aware the changes syllabus.
 
I wouldnt buy old level 2 study material this year. They changed level 1 this year to reflect the move to IFRS. I imagine they will probably do the same for level 2 next year. there are similarities and i'm sure 60% of the topics will overlap but FSA will likely change a lot.
