Has anyone ever taken Live Classes by any provider? I am trying to see if they are worth it. To what I see is that Schweser live classes are backed up by the prestigious NYSSA. I live in close to NYC so also have access to SHARP Seminars. I heard good things about SHARP Seminars. Then there is Stalla live classes.

So do you think if its worth taking Live Classes for level 1? If yes, then please tell me the provider and why they are good? Thanks in advance!
 
I have heard lot of positive feedback from AF on Stalla live in NYC....they all like Peter Olinto.

I used Stalla in LA - live classes..There were 2 instructors...one was really good, and the other a total waste of time. For LA folks, I recommend stalla self study guide...Peter olinto is the instructor in most of them, on the CD lectures.

How much experience do you have with covered topics?
 
I have taken a few classes here and there in school as undergraduate. You can say I have understanding, but I need in-depth understanding of all and back in school going to class always helped. I was the type of person who never skipped class. So, i am debating on which provider to choose.

Why dont you take classes offered by the CFA local Societies... they usually have good faculty and expert teachers. This will be a quick review of most topics and saves alot of time.
I am planning to take the review class offered by CFA Society of San Francisco.
 
I took the Saturday class in NYC offered by Stalla, they were pretty helpful as a supplement to the study guide. If you have a question, the instructor can answer it on the spot instead of emailing Stalla and waiting a day for a response. I found the live class to be pretty identical to the video lectures in terms of structure.

Thanks for the help. What location did you take these classes and do you remember who were the instructors?
Lot of things are not clear to me, especially in FSA and Quant. Do you think they go over enough details for LOSs to clear out concepts? Also how do they manage to finish one complete study session in 3 hour class?
 
I took a 2-day Stalla final prep course in Toronto two weeks before exam - Peter Olinto was great - I would reccomend.
 
Wait - a - minute ....isnt Peter Olinto teaching in NYC?
 
He taught most (but not all) of the classes for the December test. The classes he taught were located 1) downtown Wall Street and 2) the Hotel Pennsylvania. He is scheduled to teach level one and level two for June... However, if this is important to you, you should call to confirm before you sign up.
