You know, this makes sense now. When I activated my CFAI membership, the charge for activating my NYSSA membership was $0.00. Being that I faxed my payment to NYSSA separately, they probably updated some info with CFAI that waived their fee portion when I activated my memberships via the CFAI e-mail to me.
Question is, do any local societies let you skate by without paying that first year?
