Ignorant about what? For example when I say something like this: “Certainly but Boston isn’t London. I would imagine going to LBS, you could pretty much pick where you’re going to work after graduation.” No, wait… That was you. You imply people who graduate from Harvard aren’t able to pick where they are going to work after graduation as easily as someone who graduated from LBS. Seriously? Are you high? You really think HBS doesn’t have the international appeal and presence that london business school has? Give me a break.
Every retard in every back alley in every 3rd world city who’s been living under a rock for the past 50 years knows what Harvard and Harvard Business School is. You’re trying to seriously argue that LBS is better known and somehow companies prefer LBS over Harvard? I can guarantee you this is not the case and the only place where a top LBS student may be considered a better candidate than a top HBS student would be in London and that’s only when an alumni of LBS is doing the picking.
LBS is a good school. Schools which are better are Harvard, Stanford, and Wharton. LBS is arguably better than IMD, IESE, and INSEAD; and even that is a controversial statement to make.
I can’t even believe this stupid question got to page 2.

I am really surprised as well, especially with comments like “LBS has a better reputation (I would say)”.
Is LBS even better regarded than Said?

Wow, I’m shocked by what I’m reading. Even my British friends would rather get an American MBA at a place like: Harvard, Wharton, or Stanford rather than go to LBS. I think this shows that their are a lot of Asians on this forum.
LBS, which I will apply to this year, is a great school and I will be lucky if I get interviewed even, but I really think it is nowhere nearly as bada$$ as Harvard. From what I can tell the student body is largely comprised of wealthy kids from the developing world. Could this be why everyone here is saying YES to LBS in this thread? I noticed someone asking if SAID was better than Harvard even? Jeebus.
Harvard, by contrast, has seriously Type-A people with just sick backgrounds. The only weak-links might be the younger kids straight out of undergrad.
Everyone that I have ever spoken to in the I-Banking world has always said that you should go for the Top US MBA.

I strongly doubt this is an Asian bias. American universities are FAR more well known in [East] Asia than any European ones.
But yeah, Harvard hands down unless you are specifically focused on working in London.

Definitely HBS. I too am surprised by the initial London bias. Even some of my Europeans friends would take HBS in half a heartbeat.

I’m English and I thought everyone would say Harvard. LBS is a great school and all but…
PS: I own a flat next door to LBS if anyone wants to rent off me next school year ;-)
