Looks Like Accountants are not welcome

I know a few people that did the classic CA/CPA -> CFA/investment banking and research analyst route, having an account designation defintely helped them gain some leverage when applying for competetive jobs - nobody can argue that having a CA/CPA doesn’t provide a lot of value when looking to move into the financial industry

Dear Gents and Ladies
To sum up the whole arguments and debates ,you guys believe accounting is a good degree to move into
the FA world ?
I thank all

Yes, accounting is a good degree to move into the Financial Accounting world.

And I would suggest a law degree if you would like to practice law. I hear it helps quite a bit. Same for the PE(professional engineer) designation if you would like to oversee engineering construction projects. And if you would like to sell securities, I hear the series 7 helps quite a bit, at least in the eyes of the law.

Im still debating if the CMA is worthwhile. I looked at a few practice questions and they seem incredibly easy. I however see ocassional jobs that list CMA as a plus, and since I do not have 30 hours of accounting, (only a respectable 18), I figured it might make more sense to try the CMA to add a little credibility to my accounting knowledge instead of taking 12 more hours of college accounting just in order to be able to sit for the CPA.

Did Edupristine hack Greenman’s account??

Accounting is good for financial accounting of course but how much does it prepare you for CFA ?
Does it give you any leverage ?

^ Definately, I wish I had an accounting background.
Btw, everyone is welcome here, pull up a chair and enjoy the show.

You can’t, the CMA is no longer offered. CPA program is rolling out in September 2014
Edit: Assuming you’re referring to Canadian CMA/CPA*
