Looks like my MBA program wont let me sit for my Level 1 exam in December

Honestly you have nothing to lose by writing a strongly worded appeal, worst case they just say ‘no’ again.
The fact that a business school with (presumably) a finance program wouldn’t be cognissant of when the CFA exams are is a bit shocking; any professors in the finance faculty should be extremely supportive of students pursuing the designation. You may want to try contacting someone in the finance department to try and get some backing from someone who (ideally) has a charter.

You did an MBA straight after undergrad with no work experience? Grab the hacksaw.
Right. I realize I probably won’t reap the benefit immediately, but in 10 years I will be eligible to apply for any and all jobs that require an MBA. They don’t say they require an MBA 5 years after undergrad, they just require the check box to tick that you have one. I realize I’ll be entering an entry level undergrad job upon graduation, but that’s fine. I don’t want to deal with stopping my career and coming back to school for two years

start writing the appeal…gives u something to do anyway
i already wrote the appeal and was denied by the director of the program. Are you saying I try speaking with the president of the school or some such?

Was the conference requirement added after you decided to attend that school?
to be honest, I don’t know. I was certainly not informed of it until just this week as I was signing up for classes. But it definitely/likely may have existed. I don’t get the feeling that it’s new or anything

I think that if you can make the case that passing this exam will help you land a higher than average salary and be placed in a company they would reconsider. Wether that’s true or not? I don’t know. I do know It’s all about the stats though.
Good point. One of the main talking points of the appeal was the benefit passing all three levels would have and how it would reflect positively on the school. Didn’t think about discussing specifically that one level

thanks. My concern has been that I don’t want to berate them and just continue asking and hammering and not give up forest that they might get mad and say “fine, don’t like our program, go somewhere else.” And kick me out
