i was applying for the deutsche bank’s summer internship program. they only have two divisions open for internship here..corporate finance and markets.Description from their website:
1. market- Markets combines the sales, trading and structuring of a wide range of financial market products which top industry publications consistently rank as number one in the market
2. corporate finance- Our activities include mergers and acquisitions, advisory, debt and equity origination and issuance, and capital markets coverage.
my ultimate objective is to break into fund managment..which of the two divisions should i apply to that would have a greater carryover to fund mgt??
also what other good summer internship programes are available in india? if any1 has been through them please provide me insight..
thank u

Depends on the strategy of the fund that you hope to work for. If the fund you aspire to work at is a fundamental long-only manager investing in public equities then I’d apply through the markets stream.
If the fund you want to work for focuses primarily on private transactions take the corporate finance route.

i choose markets but i from the description given above it looks like “markets division” hardly has any analyst type role
