Hi,

Would someone break down to me the weights allocated to each study season/topic?
I.e. the number of questions expected on each topic.

Thanks.

It's all in the study guide, but I've since memorized it so here goes:

15% Ethics
12% Quant
10% Econ
28% FSA and CF
10% Equity
10% Fixed Income
5% Derivatives
5% Alternative Investments
5% Portfolio Managemnet

Just as a side note has anyone noticed the most "efficient" study sessions are FSA/CF, Ethics, Alternative Invesmtents and Portfolio Management, they take up about 40% of the reading but account for 53% of the final mark.

I agree. And thanks. Didn't really go through the study guide yet. I have done reading so I want to focus my study on the most effective areas in the material (highest weight/most probable questions)

However, since FSA weights 28% of the total exam, what area's in FSA (i.e. CF, Tax, FIFO/LFIO), Quant, and Eco should we focus our attention to?

What material is low profile (usually questions do not appear from)

Thanks guys.

Anything and everything in the LOS can and probibly will high profile.

The exams do focus on a few major things, i.e. one year they threw a dozen taxation questions on, other years they just love off Dupont and then there is the ever constant LIFO/FIFo from what I hear. Economics does have a bit to do with Foreign exchange and the olbvious other material, Quant is relatively simple, from the people i talk to. Read the back posts, there are many with past level 1 candidates recanting their experiences. But expect anything, for instance last year I heards GIPS got hit hard.

Bottomline, there are no guaranteed short cuts, just study your ass off and try to master EVERYTHING!
