Hello Everyone:

Is there a certification to become a Mgmt. Consultant?

Thanks

It's called an MBA.

There's this search engine I use called google and this is what I came up http://www.imcusa.org/certification/.

Any recommendations of institutions to acquire said certification (MBA)?

Resume and experience is what matters most. MBA's for the big consulting firms helps. Never heard of the above certification. Most good consultants specialize. They don't need certifications because they ARE the expert in that field. Most don't feel the need to possess a certification. They are certified by the fact that if you search the subject on google, you get 50 hits with their name listing them as having published research on the topic.

That being said, there are a lot of industry experts who lack the soft-skills of consulting and could perhaps benefit from something like a certification. Really though, there are plenty of well written books that offer insight into these issues.

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies. I posted a thread last week and few people think it was a joke. "should i sit for the LSAT or the GMAT" I did exceptionaly good in undergraduate in both area. But, i am confused as to which one i should venture into. HELP!

PS. I am 30 yrs old. Is it too late for Law school?

I hear you can exchange your MBA for a CFA on the black market.

The University of Phoenix has a well regarded MBA certification program, might be pretty tough to get in though.

Shaquille O'Neal has an MBA from the University of Phoenix. If you get your MBA through the University of Phoenix, that pretty much means you can be Shaq too.

Odepius - you should sit for the MCAT (Management Computer Adapted Test). High scores on that should get you into a top MBA or Law program.
