Most hated reading?

I want to murder the guy who wrote Economics of Regulation. So much text with no formulas or blue boxes to break it up… torture.
Also, pension accounting, because they explain it so badly.

I come from an econometrics background so Quant and Time Series feel pretty trivial to me but I can believe how it must feel daunting for say ppl with an accounting background. Economics is also part of my background but I admit even I struggle with the theoretical subjects, especially as so much of these theories are being contested to this day. Regulation is brutal, although not that hard. Accounting has never been my forte but it’s getting along after much practice. The blurbing in earnings quality I could have done without though.
But for me in terms of brutality it’s gotta be the private equity planet and all it’s proprietary lingo. Many concepts seem familiar to other readings but the different terminology drives me nuts. So much potential to confuse things, I’ve already quit on trying to make more sense of it and I’m down to cold memorization. Not a big fan of real estate either with its NAVPS, AFFO, and million other acronyms.
