MPS for L3 ?

Who knows?
Usual mantra of >70% overall ensures a pass.
Some say that it may be 65 and as low as 62% some years? Clearly an educated assumption.
There is a big difference with L3.
Everyone who gets here has earnt the right to try to complete the exams for the charter by passing L1 & L2.
Consider L1 & L2 probably have quite a few unprepared candidates, just going through the motions.
I think there is a much larger cluster of candidates around the pass/fail line (whatever number that turns out to be) than the other levels, which makes it tough given the once a year chance to sit for the exam.
 
They estimated it last year with 95% confidence.. its between 60-65%. But results vary
Sometimes 64% Failed band 10 While 62.5% Passed, there has been some speculations..
 
What worried is me i cant get above 70 in PM .
In morning anything above 60 is tough
So MPS of 65% is looking bad for me
 
Vicky- you should already have an idea of what the LIII MPS is/could/should be since you’ve done this before…
Nevertheless, I heard that exam graders are more lenient on those who are re-sitting for LIII (which probably explains how I passed). Think 50% AM + 70% PM + “re-taker allowance” = Band 11, just made the cut

Do you really think that? As far as I know, the grader teams don’t even know the names of the candidates, just the number. Since each team just grades one excercise, they don’t decide if you pass. In the end, it will probably be an automated process to conclude if someone passed. Ethics adjustment is in it, but I doubt there will be a re-taker allowance. I would hope so, since it’s my first attempt…

MPS is difficult to estimate as the 40/60/80 rules does apply well. Pretty easy to get a 0 in L3 AM whereas there was always a 1/3 guess chance in L1 and L2.
Based on everything I’ve seen, 60-65 seems like a normal MPS. The AM portion has to shove the MPS down, especially due to the timing issue.
 
CFA graders can smell fear. They prey on the weak. Retakers’ secretions of fear hormones is less than first timers. If you’re a first timer who’s too confident, you can make it easily. Some say, that a candidate who hadn’t shower for weeks passed the test despite the fact that he left half of the AM unanswered. His stink covered his fear.
