Does anyone have an idea what it usually is for Level 3 writers? I feel like I’ve been told by professors in the past and I can’t recall.
 
CFAI does not publish it and nobody knows and it varies from year to year.. There were post discussing it specifically.
 
You might know after grades out for Band 10 failed candidates and you can estiamte with 95% and 5% marginal of error.. For now, enjoy your time!
 
I have calculated the mps for various years (considering the most recent ones 2012-2014) and figured out that it has to be somewhere 63-65. I used the bands privided 40/60/80 and used additionally also different higher values for the AM part, as this one cannot be calculated the same way (e.g. 2/6, etc.) like the PM. My findings are that the MPS, even for 2014 (which had a higher passing rate and was prob. Easier compared to 2015), was somewhere at 63.

So, most probably, the MPS is somehow Fixed no matter what the level of candidates is i.e. an average candidate should not worry if the population is full of nerds.

I belive it changes every year as % of pass rates changes.

I don’t think it is fixed, the past exams have shown that it is between 63 - 67. It varies depending on the difficulty of the exam, which is reflected by the results of the exam takers. Now, considering that the exam was not very easy at least the AM part, the MPS should be rather at the lower to mid level, e.g. 63-65. However targeting on 70+ would put you on the save side.
