I just can't bring myself to study... i was robbed in Dec...how did i fail!

i am having the hardest time finding motivation to study now.... ugh...

Level 1: Fail

The table below illustrates your subject matter strengths and weaknesses. The three columns on the right are marked with asterisks to indicate your performance on each question or topic area.

Multiple Choice Q# Topic Max Pts <=50% 51%-70% >70%
- Alternative Assets 12 - - *
- Derivatives 12 - * -
- Economics 24 - * -
- Equity Analysis 24 - * -
- Ethical & Professional Stnds. 36 - * -
- Financial Statement Analysis 68 - * -
- Fixed Income Analysis 24 - * -
- General Portfolio Management 12 * - -
- Quantitative Analysis 28 - * -

1 Below 50, and 1 above 50. Everything else in the middle.

No offense, but I have seen a lot better scores than yours that have failed. You weren't robbed.

Agree with DRS, your scores are average and probably you deserved that fail.

But think of it this way.

You blew it with ethics, you should have memorized that book and scored >70. So bring that score up.

FSA is tough and you did okay. PM most people will fail and probably you will fail again. So figure you're fine here just revisit this stuff.

Eco is cake, you need to blow this topic away and get every free point you can get. FI is also free points if you know all your duration, convexity, PVBP, etc. Equity is fun and you're going to get a buttload of it on L2, so you might as well learn it now.

So all you really need to do is ace ethics, bring Econ up, plus either FI or Equity up and you're there.

Kzacca01 - if you were robbed in Dec...how about me?

Spud - You failed !!!!!!..............No way

Now I am seriously worried !

Don't worry guys. Only explanation is that I got borderline on all my results.

Still, Spud... I agree... .those results scare the heck out of me.

Spud - Did you ever do the regrade? I remember that we all talked about it...

Spud..........that's hard to believe.........sorry.

now, I have to set my hurdle at 80%.............

Lets all just hope that June has a load of numpies taking the exam, thus making us all look brilliant (in a pass curve kinda way!).

Are the pass rates usually higher in June or December historically?

Thats horrifying. You got >70 in most of the sections and you still failed. God knows what gonna happen to me!!!!

That stinks. sorry spud.

To make the rest of us feel a little better though as we study, keep in mind as you look at these results that they don't give you the actual scores. I mean there were six sections for a total of 112 points where the score was 70+ and three sections for a total of 128 points where the score was 51-70.

if you hit 72% on the 112 you get 80 points
if you hit 52% on the 128 you get 66 points

just to ballpark it that is a total of 146 / 240 or just about a 61.

ethics and fsa have to be 60-70+ or this gets a lot harder. They were 104 of the 240 points! No doubt though that this post is going to influence my cramming focus a bit for the next few weeks!
